Hydrosols serve multiple functions for your skin. They moisturize, balance and freshen.

Hydrosol (Hydro = water sol=sun) sun on blossom + water = hydrosol or floral water

When plants are steam distilled to produce essential oils some very valuable compounds of the plant that are not found in the essence become dissolved in the distillation water. A familiar example of this is Rose Water Lavender and Neroli /Orange blossom water. These floral waters or Aromatic Hydrosols are used for a number of different applications. In France Hydrosols are used for everything when essential oils may be too strong... Thyme Hydrosol is useful for sore throats and skin infections. Other waters can be valuable in topical applications.  Pictured above is an exclusive collectors bottle of English royal cobalt glass. Victoria Edwards began collecting blue cobalt and importing it in the early 80s  The old English bottles are a deep purple cobalt not the cheap palish blues. The bottles are collectors items as they are no longer being made.

New Hydrosols; 

Cornflower   the old fashioned remedy for puffiness around the eyes, this hydrosol is soothing for the complexion and has a scent like sweet clover and honey. 

From  Madagascar "Cannelle" Cinnamon hydrosol is delicious, a few drops is a digestive calmative good for indigestion, morning sickness and nausea safe to use with children.  Also good in anti-bacterial and anti-fungal blends for internal use.
