Origins of Leydet Aromatics |
|
We've survived close to 20 years in business. The founder, Victoria Edwards, was growing Roses, and aromatic herbs in her garden in the 70's, Victoria began wild-crafting Elder blossoms and Mugwort at the nearby American River while giving massage treatments professionally at the Village Sauna in Fair Oaks. After massaging clients with different oils and lotions she noticed some people had preferences for different scents. Most clients had unusual emotional feelings with vanilla type smells. Victoria began to research the psychological-physical reactions with different blends. In time she created her own unique herbal oils with specific abilities to help the many different people who were presenting to her their symptoms Leydet oils had a humble beginning, offering 7 different sun-infused massage and body oils. These were sold to the public at the local craft fairs and to her many massage students and friends. Herbs were relatively not well known and had fallen out of common usage. Victoria was the only person in the Sacramento teaching the uses of herbs by taking people on plant ID-walks. Many TV talk shows and radio shows, ensued In 1979 Victoria taught the first Aromatherapy
classes at a Well Being Center. Aromatherapy increased in
popularity by the mid 1980s and continued to grow. Victoria's other talents are in Journalism, oil Painting with Essential oils & resins, and Music. One of her most cherished goals is to work in team-work support of each other co-creating rather than competing. A New Age model of doing business with heart and compassion for the Earth is our mission at Leydet. We are the ones we have been waiting for ........

Leydet supports the concept of:
the Rightful use of plants to heal the planet.
|
| So
why Leydet? The name Ledet is Victoria's maternal grandmothers name. Eugenie Ledet was born in New Orleans and is still an inspiration to the company since her passing on. In 1989 a traditional spelling was
discovered for Ledet that added the Y. The translation of Leydet is:
a field of flowers, a meadow of blossoms. The flower's scent becomes
the messenger of the natural world. Our love and understanding of
Nature is part of our healing. Victoria's maternal grand parents Eugenie & Denis Ledet |
